Almoayyed Motors, the sole distributor of Ford in the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced that it has donated $15,500 to Migrant Workers Protection Society (MWPS).
“We were delighted to provide this worthy donation to Migrant Workers Protection Society as the board very much support and respect the work that they do in the Kingdom of Bahrain to help unfortunate low income migrant workers who often need support and assistance,” speaking on behalf of the Board of Directors, Mohammed Almoayyed said.
“As a voluntary organization, we totally rely on people’s goodwill and kind donations to support us in our work. So we were delighted to receive this gift from Almoayyed Motors,” MWPS General Secretary, Beverley Hamadeh, said.
“A lengthy procedure for our society to obtain permission to accept the grant started here back in April 2012 but we finally received the good news that we had been successful and accepted the $ 15,500 donation a few weeks ago. Needless to say, the money will be put to very good use in helping those who find themselves in difficult circumstances when they are far from home and need someone to reach out to,” she added.
Based out of Adliya, MWPS now has over forty members from Bahrain, Britain, Canada, Ethiopia, Germany, India, Kenya, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the US, all of whom work on an entirely voluntary basis.
