Sixteen people accused of attempted murder of policemen whilst on duty in June 2012 have been sentenced each to 15 years in prison, Northern Prosecutor Mohammed Al-Malki said.
The 3rd Instance of the High Criminal Court convicted ordered them to pay together BD10, 508 in compensation for the patrol car which they set ablaze.
The court also convicted them of rallying in a public place to subvert security, assault policemen and holding inflammable substances.
The terror group attacked a police checkpoint at Hamad Town (roundabout 20) hurling Molotov cocktail firebombs.
