Deputy Premier, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, said that the positive indices witnessed by real estate sector in the Kingdom, including the inauguration of new mega projects, reflect the investors’ confidence in Bahrain’s real estate market and testify the soundness of the government’s approach and its effectiveness in encouraging the private sector to take the initiative and establish itself as a partner in enhancing the real estate sector, providing housing solutions and pushing economic growth forward.
Speaking as he inaugurated the $1.6 billion Dilmunia Island project in Muharraq, Shaikh Khalid described the real estate sector as an important pioneering sector which the government is constantly interested to create all the required conditions for it to thrive and attract more domestic and foreign capitals and investments so as to strengthen the national economy.
The Deputy Premier extended sincere thanks and appreciation to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman AL Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier for their incessant support for all initiatives to boost the real estate sector in the kingdom.
He added that the government’s efforts to enhance urban development in the Kingdom will continue through setting up infrastructure projects and providing basic services so as to motivate investors to start new projects that back the government’s plans to provide housing solutions and meet the needs of all social segments in this regard.
During the ceremony, attended by many ministers, businessmen and real estate developers, Shaikh Khalid unveiled a memorial to mark the inauguration of the first phase, including the infrastructure requirements of the Dilmunia Island project.
The Deputy Premier expressed delight at the inauguration of the first phase of the Dilmunia Island project, asserting that it is an added value project with a unique feature as it brings together health, housing and tourism services.
He pledged that the urban development march in the kingdom will continue with more projects to be set up in the future, which will consolidate the comprehensive renaissance process in the country.
Shaikh Khalid said that the government was making tremendous efforts to develop mechanisms and solutions to support real estate developers so as to enable them to overcome the difficulties they have gone through over the past period.
