Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology honoured the winning works in the eGovernment Excellence Award at the end of the ceremony.
Within the Government Sector; winners included the Ministry of Finance for ‘Best eContent Award’ given to their website (http://www.mof.gov.bh); Ministry of Municipalities and Urban Planning for ‘Best eService Award’ on their Issuance of Building Permits eService; Ministry of Social Development for ‘Best eProject Award’ given on their NGO System; and Ministry of Works for eMaturity Award.
Within the Multi Sector; winners included Bahrain Business Machines for ‘Best ICT Solutions Provider Award’; Ministry of Works for ‘eEconomy Award’; Aluminum Bahrain (ALBA) for ‘eEconomy Award’; Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (GPIC) for ‘eEducation Award’; and Bahrain Deaf Society for ‘eNGO Award’.
Within the Citizens Sector; winners included Yousif Mohammed Al Ghawas for ‘Best eConcept Award’ given to his Tourism Application; Haya Hassan Al-Doseri for ‘Best eConcept Award’ given to her Smart Road Information System; AbdulHussein Khidhir Gholoum Ahmed for ‘eCitizen Award’ given to having the highest volume of transactions through the eGovernment portal in one year; along with AbdulAziz Ahmed AbdulAziz Bu Haji for ‘eCitizen Award’ for having the highest number of transactions through the eGovernment portal in one year.
HH Shaikh Mohammed also honoured forum sponsors for their efforts and endeavors in such an important annual event. Some of the numerous sponsors included Strategic Partner Tamkeen;Diamond Partners Shura Council, Batelco, GBM-IBM, Microsoft, Almoayyed Computers and Affno Middle East, CISCO Systems, Sharp Middle East, STS Jordan; and the Council of Representatives (Nuwab) as Golden Partners.
HH Shaikh Mohammed also inaugurated Bahrain IT Expo 2013 which brings together some of the leading participants under one roof to review the latest technical solutions – providing the opportunity to learn and exchange ideas and experiences in the field of eGovernment innovations and technologies from all over the world.
During the opening ceremony of Bahrain International eGovernment Forum, Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa was pleased with the presence of Tender Board Chairman Bassem bin Yaqoob Al Hamar who honoured the Electricity and Water Authority for being the government entity with the highest number of tenders launched via the eTendering System since the beginning of the launch until today.
