The Minister of State for Communications Affairs, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, highlighted the importance of rapid development of Bahrain’s telecom sector.
Shaikh Fawaz, who held talks at his office at the Ministry premises with the CEO of Zain Bahrain Mohammed Zainal Abidin, highlighted the role being played by Zain Bahrain as one of the major telecom players in the development of the sector.
During the meeting, the Minister welcomed Zain’s general-director, praising the good efforts exerted by all company employees, which culminated in constant successes, and good reputation of the company and its contribution to the prestigious position of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a leader in the telecommunications industry.
The Minister explored with Mohammed Zainal Abidin matters pertaining to development of the telecommunications sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and compliance with Cabinet resolutions obliging Zain Bahrain BSC to offer 15% of its total shares for public subscription as agreed with the company before obtaining the TRA’s licensure to carry out business in Bahrain back in 2003.
The Minister of State for Communications Affairs accentuated the Government’s constant keenness on supporting the progress of national firms and establishments in various fields, in order to boost the Kingdom of Bahrain’s economic position both regionally and internationally, wishing him and all employees of Zain Bahrain BSC more progress and perpetual successes.
On the other hand, the company’s general director informed Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa about the company’s plans and future projects, and lauded the Minister’s huge persistent efforts in supporting and boosting the telecommunications’ sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
