The General Director of Crime Detection and Forensic Science announced on Monday announced the arrest of an Asian suspected of stealing a BD35000 diamond ring at one of the Jewellery shops taking part in Jewellery Arabia later last year.
He said that the case was referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for legal procedures, while highlighting that the suspect entered the shop and robbed the ring while distracting the attention of the seller by asking the prices and to see many items. He continued that the suspect walked out the shop after hiding the ring without buying anything.
The General Director said that short after receiving the case forensic team of the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science rushed to the scene to take fingerprints and collect evidence, at the same time all workers were asked to give their testimonies and a rough painting of the suspect’s face was drawn according to how he was described by the workers.
He said that investigation had led to indentify the suspect who managed to flee the country before his arrest, and the Interpol was notified, while on April 2 the suspect was arrested during his arrival to the Bahrain International Airport.
