GCC Information Ministers 21st meeting kicks off in Manama under the chairmanship of the Minister of State for Information Affairs of the Official Spokesperson of the Government Samira bint Ibrahim Rajab.
Assistant GCC Secretary-General for Cultural and Media Affairs Khalid bin Salem Al-Ghassani said the meeting will tackle a number of issues that enhance joint GCC media action, especially promoting GCC identity and consolidating inter-relation between GCC societies and their security and stability, as will be outlined by the work paper to be presented by the GCC Secretariat-General.
He added the GCC Information Ministers will discuss the results of the study conducted on activating the media across the GCC, in implementation of the resolution of the GCC Supreme Council during its 13th Consultative Meeting in May, 2011.
The recommendations issued by GCC media committees during their meetings this year will also be spotlighted, he also said.
He said that preparations to hold the GCC Days in Stockholm in November have completed, in cooperation with GCC partners in Sweden, commending the outstanding efforts of the Saudi Ambassador to Sweden and those of other GCC countries to ensure the success of the event aiming to highlight GCC issues, stances and landmark achievements.
Al-Ghassani extended sincere thanks to the Minister of State Samira bint Ibrahim Rajab and all affiliates of the Ministry of State for Information Affairs in the Kingdom for the warm welcome and hospitality accorded to the participating delegations, and the state-of-the-art equipment put at their disposal of the participants, which, he said, will ensure the success of the meeting.
