The First Deputy Chairman of Shura Council, Jamal Fakhro, said that the Kingdom’s parliamentary delegation to the 124th general assembly meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Geneva, effectively participated during the meetings and discussions and presented several initiatives and projects regarding how to develop and boost the work of parliamentary associations of various participating countries.
The delegation effectively participated in the tenth round of discussion regarding eradication of all sorts of discrimination against women. The delegation also partook in the meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union regarding the United Nations boosting compliance with, and defending, the rights of disadvantaged categories of people: Part (1): aboriginal peoples and Part (2) persons with special needs.

The Bahraini parliamentary delegation comprised its Chairperson MP Latifa Al-Qa’ood, Shura Council member Jameela Salman, MP Sawsan Taqawi, MP Isa Al-Kooheji, Dr. Fawziya Al-Jeeb the Director of Parliamentary and Public Relations in the Shura Council, Ameera Al-Qattan member of the delegation and media officer Haifa Odwan.
