A parliamentary delegation, led by the Chairperson of the Women and Child Committee at the Council of Representatives MP Ibtissam Abdulrahman Hijris, will take part in the European Development Days (EDD13), to organised by the European Commission in Brussels from November 26 to 27 under the theme of “A Decent Life for All by 2030 –Building a Consensus for a New Development Agenda.
EDD13 will focus on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and on the global framework which will succeed them by 2015.
High level speakers, representatives from civil society, private sector and academia from all continents will come together to debate the content of the next agenda which should address global poverty and sustainable development.
EDD13 will discuss the EU vision for development until and beyond 2015.
The delegation includes the Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee at the Council of Representatives MP Sawsan Taqawi and members of the Shura Council the Chairperson of the Human Rights Committee Dr. Aysha Al-Mubarak, Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee Nansi Khadhouri and members of the Financial Committee Dr. Nada Haffadh and Services Committee Dr. Jehad Al Fadhel.
