Hosted at Bahrain National Museum, the event was attended by Transport Minister and Economic Development Board (EDB) Acting Chief Executive Officer Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Duke of York Prince Andrew, ministers, MPs, executive directors and businessmen representing countries and companies taking part in BIAS-2014 and guests.
Addressing the ceremony, Kamal bin Ahmed welcomed the attendees, hailing the success of the 3rd BIAS -2014 which out passed the previous two editions.
Citing updated figures, he said that the rate of participation in BIAS-2014 soared by up to 50 per cent, compared with previous edition.
“Over 100 aviation and aircraft and companies representing 32 countries are taking part, including the US, the UAE, Turkey, Germany, France, Russia, Egypt, India and China”, he said.
He commended the efforts of the Transport Ministry, the Royal Bahrain Airforce (RBAF), which organized BIAS in cooperation with Farnborough International Ltd.
