The Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr Hassan Fakhro highlighted Bahrain’s experiences in field jewelry and pearls field in particular, pointing to Jewellery Arabia which is held in Bahrain annually since 1992 with the participation of leading local and international companies, including major Indian companies.
In the framework of the historic visit carried out by His Majesty the King to the friendly Republic of India, Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro in ceremony patronage the opening ceremony of the 7th Signature 2014 in Gems & Jewelry in the capital of India, Mumbai.
During the opening, the Minister and the accompanying delegation toured the exhibition, which is considered one of the leading and largest jewelry fair in the world, praising the global level of this exhibition and the volume of international participants, which showcase the best jewellery collections by the country’s leading manufacturers. Restricted to about more than 550 exhibitors, the focus is on product – jewellery of the highest standards of design, craftsmanship and finish.
In this context, the Minister stressed the need to benefit and exchange experiences and to optimize the expertise from the both sides. In turn the experiences that are characterized the Kingdom of Bahrain in organizing annual jewelry exhibition for more than twenty years. The Minister was briefed on the modern technology used in examining gems as well as methods used in extracting diamonds.
