ISLAMABAD: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday on a historic state visit to Pakistan at the invitation of the Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
HM the King held talks with the Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister and a number of senior officials on ways of bolstering the two friendly countries’ deep-rooted relations in various fields, as well as the latest regional and global developments of mutual interest.
Upon arrival at the Nur Khan Airbase, HM the King was welcomed by the Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Ministers, the Pakistani Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and members of the Bahrain Embassy.
Official reception protocols began with the firing of 21 rounds of artillery.
Then, music troupes played the anthems of the two nations.
His Majesty then reviewed a guard of honour, and shook hands with senior Pakistani civil and military officials.
The Pakistani Prime Minister also shook hands with members of the official delegation accompanying HM the King.
After that, HM King Hamad left Nur Khan Airbase to his residence, accompanied by the Pakistani Prime Minister.
A convoy of Honour, led by Pakistani Minister of Civil Aviation Sojat Adhim, was formed.
