MANAMA: By Mahmood Rafique, Editor: The Kingdom of Bahrain’s hospitality sector will get a boost with upcoming two major properties Mama Shelter and H Hotel both to be hosted by GFH with a tentative completion by the year end of 2020.
Mr. Hisham Alrayes, CEO of GFH on the sidelines of the Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) of GFH told the The24X7News Bahrain (www.twentyfoursevennews.com) that GFH’s real estate business was doing well in Bahrain with exciting accomplishments in 2019 and promising 2020.
“We are doing very well as GFH has completed and full acquisition of the Villamar in the last quarter of 2019 and progress on delivering the Villamar is a going on project. In addition, the buyers of the apartments are going to receive their apartments during Q1 of 2020 with full project is likely to be completed by the first half of the 2020,” Mr. Hisham said, adding that GFH Harbour project will host two global brands Mama Shelter Hotel, the first in the Gulf region, as well as H Hotel, the luxury brand coming to Bahrain and tentative completion by the year end of 2020.
Earlier, it was announced that Mama Shelter will open its first hotel in Bahrain in 2020 at a seafront location in the Kingdom’s Financial Harbour area. The 160-room hotel will include a new restaurant as well as a rooftop pool offering stunning sea views.
Accor, an augmented hospitality group, and GFH Financial Group will manage the brand in the Kingdom. Each of the rooms is set to come with a king size bed and free films. Guests will also have a selection of Mama Shelter’s skincare range which were designed in partnership with French skincare brand Absolution.
Also, GFH Financial Group and H Hotels & Resorts Management (H Hotels) have signed an operation agreement for a new five-star hotel in the heart of Manama, Bahrain.
The move is H Hospitality Collection’s first foray into the Bahrain market, adding to the UAE-based company’s collection of luxury hotels and resorts internationally, including: The H Dubai, The H Resort Seychelles, CentreVille Hotel & Experiences Montenegro and Villa Diyafa in Morocco.
Situated at the landmark Harbour Row waterfront project, the hotel, which will boast restaurants, meeting rooms, a pool, gym and other amenities, is almost 60 percent complete.
Progress is also being made on the east and west residential towers consisting of 322 apartments as well as retail and commercial hubs.
