MANAMA: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is setting up an open-ended fund with a capital of BD250,000 in support of the Government efforts to control the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19.
The decision to this effect was taken during board of directors meeting held on Wednesday and the proposal was adopted in line with the BCCI’s commitment to complement the Government’s efforts to control the spread of the deadly virus.
Khalid Najibi, the Board Member and the Vice Chairman and the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (BCCI) told The24X7NewsBahrain (www.twentyfoursevennews.com).
Najibi, who is also the official Spokesperson of the BCCI, said that the private sector Fund would help in buying the medical equipment, COVID-19 testing kits, sanitizers, antiseptic and other such precautionary and treatment products.
“We are keeping the Fund an open-ended and all the businesses are encouraged to participate in this national cause as the leadership has already announced the economic stimulus and now it is our turn to join forces with the Government in this national drive. The private sector under the umbrella of the BCCI will continue working with all stakeholders in achieving the national goals,” he added.
