The Kingdom of Bahrain, an emerging sports hub, is being highlighted as one of the Cricket’s key emerging destinations in the Gulf region will also host the Gulf Cricket Cup next year.
Thousands of Cricket enthusiasts have joined the arrival of the DP World ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy on Friday, 9 January 2026 as follows: 08:00am Trophy assembly and arrival Jetty; 09:00 am Royal Boat Tour | From Muharraq to Water Garden via Business Bay then the Trophy arrived at Water Garden City;11:45am to 4pm fan engagement from 4:00pm to 4:30pm Trophy procession with Bikes to The Avenues Mall and from 5:00pm 12:00 midnight.
Earlier, the Bahrain Cricket Federation (BCF), which officially announced the detailed programme for the DP World ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy Tour in Bahrain, during the Press conference on Monday, revealing details of the event including the spots for public events. The last event attracted over tens of thousands of Cricket lovers and the number of spectators will increase manifold this time around.
The prestigious Trophy Tour, organised by the Bahrain Cricket Federation in cooperation with the International Cricket Council (ICC), will take place over three days from Friday, 9 January to Sunday, 11 January 2026, offering cricket fans, families, students, and the wider community a rare opportunity to experience the iconic ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy up close.
Mohammed Mansoor, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Bahrain Cricket Federation, while highlighting the significance of the occasion, said that the Trophy Tour represents Bahrain’s growing stature in international cricket and its commitment to promoting the sport across all sections of society.
The press conference was also addressed by BCF leadership including President Sami Ali, General Secretary Kishore Kewalram, Treasurer Ms Meenaz, Advisor Yousif Lori, and Board Members Sameer and Ms. Alison, along with sponsors, partners, and members of the media.
The Trophy Tour will combine cricket celebration with Bahrain’s cultural and heritage landmarks, featuring a Royal Boat Parade, fan engagement activities at major malls, visits to historic sites, and school outreach programmes aimed at inspiring the next generation.
BCF also acknowledged the support of its partners and sponsors, and its valued media partners, whose collaboration has been instrumental in delivering the tour.
In addition to fan engagement, the Trophy Tour places strong emphasis on youth and school outreach, reflecting BCF’s long-term vision of grassroots development, inclusivity, and national sporting pride.
