The Kingdom of Bahrain’s will display its several unique artifacts attained from the various historic eras that the country came across between Dilmun, Tylos and the Islamic era at the World Arab Institute Museum in Paris.
It was announced during the visit of Minister of Culture Shaikha Mai to France who met with Institut du Monde Arabe (IMA) Director Dominique Baudis at the institute’s headquarters in Paris.
During the meeting both sides reviewed means of bolstering joint cooperation between the institute and the ministry in various fields especially that related to cultural exchange along with participation in world cultural expositions.
Talks also focused on Bahrain’s participation in the World Arab Institute Museum in Paris related to Arab world archaeology that aims to renew them by 2012.
It is worth noting that Bahrain’s is the only GCC country that has its artifacts being displayed in the museum. The artifacts would be on display for three years and would project Bahrain’s historic civilization.
Baudis lauded the Kingdom of Bahrain and Shaikha Mai’s efforts on the level of spreading culture and revitalizing heritage congratulating Bahrain’s selection as the Arab Capital of Culture. Shaikha Mai affirmed her care on Bahrain’s name being present at all venues and events.
The minister then toured the world’s renowned architect and artist Zaha Hadid’s gallery and expressed her admiration towards its content.
Shaikha Mai highlighted the high standards of work presented by Hadid and indicated that the design for Bahrain Art Museum the Kingdom of Bahrain would construct was designed by Zaha Hadid.
