Hip-Hop takes center stage at Cultural Hall

Brooklyn-based hip-hop outfit “Chen Lo and the Lo Frequency” took to the stage for the first of its two shows at a packed Cultural Hall. Part of Bahrain Summer Festival’s lineup of performances, the band lived up to its reputation by entertaining the audience with a live mix of global rhythms drawn from the worlds of hip-hop, jazz, blues, kwaito, soul, rock, R&B, afro-beats, and pop.

The band is widely known for its artistic flair and passion for humanitarianism which are evident in its art. Hailing from Brooklyn, New York, the six-member group was formed in 2007 by rapper Chen Lo and has since performed on major TV networks and music shows such as MTV and the CMJ Music Festival.
Due to overwhelming public demand, the Ministry of Culture decided to move two upcoming shows – percussion specialists “The Dhol Foundation” (July 18th at 8 pm) and “Georgian Legend: Samaia’s Little Virtuosos” presenting Georgian traditional dance (July 25 – 26 at 7 pm) by a group of Georgian youngsters – to the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Center. Both shows remain free to the public with tickets distributed at the venue on a first-come first-served basis.
