VIVA becomes the first to launch 4G in Bahrain

VIVA Bahrain has become the first to launch the 4G LTE network in the Kingdom of Bahrain from January 1st across the Kingdom of Bahrain.

VIVA’s 4G launch confirmed the company’s state of the art network and its commitment by leading the way in internet services by bringing the latest technology available in the market.

“This statement is now reconfirmed with the launch of its state of the art 4G LTE networks on the first day of 2012, further reinforcing VIVA’s positions as the provider of the fastest broadband in Bahrain,” VIVA in a statement said.

“This is the third time in two years that VIVA broke the record with its broadband technology starting with the introduction of the HSPA+ network in 2010 with speeds up to 21.1Mbps which was the fastest broadband service in Bahrain when launched, then earlier this year VIVA broke that record again with the launch of its 42Mbps broadband and it was another first from VIVA in Bahrain. Now for the third time in a row, VIVA is committed by beginning of 2012 to launch its 4G network and services via LTE technology,” it added.

The new technology making its debut in Bahrain will be available for a first-hand experience in Bahrain City Centre starting from the 1st of January 2011.

“Delivering on our promise of bringing innovation and best services to the Kingdom of Bahrain, we have now introduced the LTE 4G technology to be available for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” Ulaiyan Al Wetaid, CEO of VIVA Bahrain said.
The Rollout of VIVA’s LTE network update has already started in Bahrain. LTE is a 4G technology stands for long term evolution; it is a dramatic evolution in data access in which consumers will feel a new experience reaching 100 Mbps. The new technology from VIVA will come with its set of new broadband devices and packages that will provide more value for money for both consumers and business.

“This is yet another example of VIVA’s commitment in bringing to Bahrain the best and latest technologies in the world paired with the best rates and packages. VIVA’s network has excelled in independent Quality of Service surveys by the TRA and we now take another step towards providing the best services for Bahrain” Ulaiyan Al Wetaid, added.

With LTE, customers can download movies in minutes, songs and photos in seconds as well as smoothly use Apps, play online Games, watch internet TV and get the latest News in any form. It is what customer want and look forward to in a future technology. LTE will change the way customers perceive wireless broadband technologies.

LTE will enable businesses to revolutionize the way they do business. It will maximize productivity, increase and make the business more nimble than ever before.
