During the meeting, the two Princes affirmed the importance of creating a new mechanism for Bahrain to support openness to the world in order to achieve balance between economic and tourism needs and security requirements so as to make Bahrain a safe haven for investors, businessmen, tourists and visitors.
In this regard, they requested Deputy Premier Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa to coordinate with the concerned authorities and work out a proposal on ways of creating that mechanism.
They also reviewed the economic situation in the kingdom and the government’s efforts to strengthen the kingdom’s economy and continue attracting investors.
They also called for the need to continue finalizing investors’ procedures as soon as possible, issuing directives to revise and evaluate the investment policies and procedures in order to achieve Bahrain’s strategy in the economic and investment areas.
Then, HRH Premier and HRH Crown Prince discussed ways of boosting the economic sector, including a national carrier capable of serving the national economy and meeting its requirements.
In this context, they stressed the importance of supporting Gulf Air in order to safeguard its financial stability and ensure the continuity of its aviation and tourism services which have a positive impact on national economy.
