The Director General of Police in Muharraq Governorate confirmed an act of terrorism on Sunday wherein a locally-made explosive device went off in Al-Dair area opposite the Al-Dair Primary Boys’ School and a kids-bikes repair shop, adding that the blast resulted in hand injuries to an Asian worker who was rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
The Directorate received a report at 5:45 am on Sunday of a bomb blast at Avenue 25 near the afore-said school. The competent bodies immediately moved to the incident’s location where an Asian worker was found to have sustained critical injuries in one of his hands. The Public Prosecution was duly notified about the incident.
