The Interior Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Interior announced Tuesday that an investigation of a complaint by a Bahraini regarding the mistreatment of his son at a police station had been opened. Legal Affairs interviewed the victim and referred him to the medical examiner.
The complaint stated that two officers and a policeman attacked the son. In the initial investigation, one of the officers claimed that the victim had verbally abused his mother in a Majlis (community center). Further investigation revealed that the police personnel had broken the law. They were detained pending legal procedures.
