His Highness Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, chaired the sixth meeting of the Security Committee this year. The meeting was attended by Deputy Southern Governor Colonel Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al Khayat; Deputy Director General of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate Colonel Shaikh Salman bin Ahmed Al Khalifa; and a number of officers representing the security directorates of the Ministry of Interior.
At the outset of the meeting, HH the Southern Governor welcomed the participants and representatives of the Ministry of Interior’s security authorities. He praised their collaborative efforts and their coordination, which bolster the foundations of safety and security in alignment with the directives of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
During the meeting, HH the Southern Governor was briefed on the security preparations for Ashoora season by the Southern Governorate Police Directorate. He emphasised the Southern Governorate’s commitment to monitoring and coordinating security arrangements.
He also reviewed the security observations and statistics received for the first half of this year and commended the role of security cooperation and the immediate actions in reading and analysing reports and developing solutions. He also praised the joint security achievements of the committee in serving the Southern Governorate.
The General Directorate of Civil Defence presented a visual overview of the security efforts. HH the Southern Governor highlighted the importance of joint cooperation with the General Directorate of Civil Defence to raise the level of security and safety in the governorate’s areas and to continue efforts in field campaigns aimed at enhancing security awareness.
He was also briefed on the efforts exerted by the General Directorate of Traffic to enhance road safety in various areas of the Southern Governorate. He directed the continuation of efforts aimed at improving traffic flow, raising the level of road safety, and intensifying traffic awareness campaigns.
He reviewed the preparations of the Community Policing Division of the Southern Governorate Police Directorate for organising security campaigns during the summer season, to enhance security and safety throughout the governorate.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the attendees appreciated HH the Southern Governor, for his ongoing follow-up and communication, which has highlighted the collaborative efforts and contributed to the governorate’s success in meeting citizens’ security needs.
