BDB wins top 50 Companies in Al Bilad’s 2026 Award

Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain: Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) has been named in Al Bilad’s Top 50 Bahraini Companies list for 2026 in recognition of its contributions to private-sector growth and the ongoing development of the Kingdom’s entrepreneurial ecosystem,.

Marking the Bank’s fifth inclusion in the coveted line-up, the recognition was announced during a ceremony organised by Al Bilad Media Group. Held on 8th July at the Gulf Hotel Bahrain, the occasion was attended by Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, alongside senior officials, private-sector leaders, business figures and decision-makers.

The accomplishment reflects BDB’s dedication to its mandate as a development finance institution supporting the advancement of Bahrain’s private sector. Through specialised financing solutions and support programmes, the Bank enables businesses and entrepreneurs to develop their ventures, navigate challenges and capitalise on emerging opportunities.

The recognition also reinforces BDB’s position as an active national partner in advancing the Kingdom’s economic priorities and contributing to a diversified and sustainable economy underpinned by innovation and entrepreneurship.

Commenting on the recognition, Ms. Dalal Al Qais, Group Chief Executive Officer of BDB, affirmed that being named among Al Bilad’s Top 50 Bahraini Companies for 2026 acknowledges the Bank’s longstanding efforts to strengthen the Kingdom’s entrepreneurial landscape.

“We are proud to receive this achievement, which shows the confidence placed in BDB’s role in supporting businesses throughout the different stages of their growth. We believe that our success is closely connected to that of our clients, which is why we are focused on continually enhancing our services suite in response to their evolving needs and future ambitions.”

“SMEs form a cornerstone of the national economy as they are pivotal in creating employment, fostering innovation, and advancing economic diversification. BDB therefore remains committed to working closely with national entities to provide an integrated support system that enables these ventures to achieve sustainable growth and pursue further expansion.”

Being named on the 2026 list provides further encouragement for the Bank to keep strengthening its contributions towards the growth of Bahraini enterprises and the long-term resilience of the national economy. Drawing on its extensive experience in project financing, the Bank consistently develops initiatives and solutions for businesses operating across a broad range of sectors. The recognition also reflects how the Bank has built enduring relationships with its clients, enabling them to improve the sustainability of their operations in line with the demands of modern commerce.

Through its work, the Bank continues to serve as a key enabler of Bahrain’s SMEs and entrepreneurs, thereby supporting the Kingdom’s Economic Vision and further strengthening its position as an attractive destination for business and investment.
