MANAMA: The Bahrain Chamber, in collaboration with the Science and Technology Center at Youth City 2030, INJAZ Bahrain, and the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY), organized the “Innovation Camp,” aimed at empowering youth and developing their innovation capabilities through creating creative and practical solutions to real-world challenges.

The camp focused on developing creativity, critical thinking and teamwork skills, while encouraging participants to explore innovative ideas and enhancing their ability to confidently present and defend their proposed solutions.

Led by instructor, Head of Training in Asry, Wafa Abdullah Jummah, the camp brought together participants who were divided into six groups. Each group worked collaboratively to address a technology innovation challenge, develop a proposed solution and present their ideas before a panel of judges.

The judging panel included Bahrain Chamber Executive Committee Member Bob Thaker, Bahrain Chamber Board Member Rashad Zainal, and Head of Shared Services and Facilities at ASRY Ehab Ali. Participants were evaluated based on a number of criteria, including creativity, teamwork, problem-solving approach, innovation, and their ability to effectively present their solutions.

Thaker affirmed that the Bahrain Chamber’s participation in the camp reflects its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship, innovation and youth development, highlighting the importance of providing young people with opportunities to explore their ideas, work collaboratively and develop practical solutions to real-world challenges.

He praised the participants’ collaboration, exchange of ideas and development of innovative solutions, noting that such experiences contribute to enhancing young people’s creativity, critical thinking, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

Zainal highlighted the importance of fostering a culture of innovation among young people, affirming that initiatives that combine learning with practical application contribute to preparing a generation equipped with the skills required to effectively contribute to the economy and the business community.

He added that encouraging young people to experiment with their ideas, collaborate with others and confidently present their solutions represents an important step towards preparing a future generation of entrepreneurs and innovators.

At the conclusion of the camp, the winning team was recognized for successfully developing an innovative technological solution. Its members received certificates and prizes in recognition of their efforts and achievement.

The organization of the “Innovation Camp” forms part of the Bahrain Chamber’s efforts to support youth development, entrepreneurship and innovation, while strengthening cooperation with educational and private-sector partners. The initiative provides young people with opportunities to develop their practical skills, explore innovative ideas and contribute to finding solutions to future challenges.
