Manama: Khaleeji Bank, a leading Islamic bank in Bahrain, has announced the conclusion of the first edition of the “Khaleeji Future Leaders Academy”, organised in collaboration with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) as part of the Bank’s initiatives to support Bahraini youth and enhance their readiness for the future through an intensive training programme combining leadership, financial literacy, Islamic finance principles and digital skills.
The Academy welcomed approximately 100 school and university students who are Ajyal Account customers. Throughout the programme, participants took part in an interactive learning experience featuring workshops, practical sessions and group activities led by a select group of trainers and specialists from BIBF.
The programme focused on practical areas aligned with the needs of young people and the future requirements of the labour market, including identifying leadership styles, character building, developing communication and teamwork skills, strengthening financial awareness and personal planning, and understanding Sharia principles related to money management and investment. It also included a trading simulation and introductory applications in AI, enabling participants to connect theoretical concepts with practical experiences that reflect real-world business environments.
The Academy also provided participants with opportunities to exchange ideas and work within diverse teams, helping develop their creative thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills. This reinforced the importance of experiential learning as an effective tool for preparing a more confident generation capable of adapting to the rapid transformations taking place across the financial and digital sectors.
“What distinguishes this Academy is its focus on building capabilities from a practical and forward-looking perspective by providing a training environment that encourages students to think, communicate, collaborate and acquire skills that can be applied throughout their academic and professional journeys. In collaboration with BIBF, we were keen to design a modern learning experience that responds to the needs of the new generation and supports their aspirations,” Fatima Ahmed Al Bin Ali, Director of Human Resources at Khaleeji Bank, said.
“At Khaleeji Bank, we believe that investing in young people is an investment in the Kingdom’s national human capital, and that equipping them with leadership, financial and digital skills contributes to preparing a generation that is better positioned to participate in Bahrain’s economic development. We are proud of the positive impact achieved by the Academy and look forward to building on this experience through future initiatives.”
At the conclusion of the programme, participants received certificates of completion after reviewing the key knowledge and skills they had gained through the training and practical activities. The experience highlighted the importance of specialised programmes that combine education with practical application while opening broader opportunities for young people to pursue continuous learning and prepare for the next stages of their academic and professional journeys.
Through this initiative, Khaleeji Bank reaffirms its commitment to supporting education, youth empowerment and promoting financial literacy, while strengthening partnerships with specialised national institutions. These efforts contribute to preparing qualified national talent capable of keeping pace with the rapid developments taking place across the financial sector and the digital economy.
