In a new international milestone in the Interior Ministry’s record of accomplishments, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science won two Stevie Awards for its “Munasaha” (Guidance) and “Ta’afi” (Recovery) programmes. The achievement reflects the Ministry’s commitment to developing security work and adopting modern, innovative approaches to awareness, prevention, and community engagement.
The “Munasaha” Programme won the Gold Stevie Award in the Thought Leadership Campaign of the Year category, while the “Ta’afi” Programme received the Silver Stevie Award in the Achievement in Innovative Public Engagement and Community Impact category.
On the occasion, Director-General of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, Major-General Abdulaziz Mayouf Al Rumaihi, extended his sincere congratulations to His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa on the distinguished achievement. He praised HE the Interior Minister’s continued support for development efforts and his commitment to adopting modern, innovative methods to enhance performance, strengthen the Ministry’s capabilities in carrying out its security duties, and further develop the security system.
The Director-General also praised Chief of Police Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan for closely following up on the directorate’s efforts and programmes. He affirmed that such support helps improve performance and strengthen initiatives to safeguard young people and prevent their involvement in crime, while supporting preventive and awareness efforts and enhancing community partnership.
He explained that the “Munasaha” and “Ta’afi” programmes are among the outcomes of the National Plan to Combat Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances. They are based on modern methodologies and innovative scientific plans designed to assist beneficiaries and promote behavioural reform as part of national efforts to address the dangers of drugs and mitigate their impact on individuals and society.
The “Munasaha” Programme aims to guide young people, reform their behaviour and help them return to the right path. The “Ta’afi” Programme focuses on reforming the behaviour of drug users, particularly young people, reintegrating them into society and helping them move from drug use towards recovery from addiction.
The programme also helps restore hope among beneficiaries, rebuild self-confidence, and strengthen communication between security personnel and the community. This supports the principle of community partnership, helps preserve family cohesion, and protects families from disintegration.
The Stevie Awards are among the prominent international awards recognising innovation, institutional excellence and achievements in business.
