Director-General of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, Brigadier Ahmed Saad Al Rumaihi, chaired the 11th meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries Concerned with Combating Corruption in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The meeting was held via videoconference, with the participation of undersecretaries and representatives of the relevant anti-corruption authorities in the GCC countries.

The meeting discussed a number of items on its agenda as part of ongoing joint GCC efforts to promote integrity and develop mechanisms for cooperation and coordination among the competent anti-corruption authorities in the GCC countries.

The meeting also reviewed the draft guidelines for the work mechanism of the Committee of Experts Concerned with Combating Corruption, the selection of the theme for the 2027 annual event, and the recommendations of the 2026 annual event organised by the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security at the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the theme “International Experiences in Promoting Integrity and Transparency in Sport.”

The meeting discussed the results of the second GCC Competition for Research and Studies in the Fields of Integrity Protection and Combating Corruption, in addition to a number of topics related to the GCC Joint Anti-Corruption Strategy, promoting integrity and compliance in the private sector, and cooperation with the International Anti-Corruption Academy.

The meeting was held in preparation for the 12th meeting of Their Excellencies the Chairmen of the Ministerial Committee Concerned with Combating Corruption in the GCC countries. The meeting discussed the topics and recommendations to be submitted to the Ministerial Committee for consideration and appropriate action.
