The General Directorate for Nationality, Passports and Residence (GDNPR) constantly seeks to ease procedures regarding the issuance of work permits and visit visas to foreigner nationals in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom, according to a top official at the GDNPR.
The Ministry of Interior’s Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, in a statement on Wednesday said that the Directorate does not have any objection against the renewal of residence permits for expatriates residing in the Kingdom or allowing them mobility from one employer to another in compliance with applicable laws even when they are banned from travelling reliant upon judicial orders from the Ministry of Justice as a result of their indebtedness to others, and revealed that the total number of applications received for this purpose since the beginning of the current year to the present day has reached 200 applications.
The Ministry of Interior’s Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs emphasized the Directorate’s keenness on easing procedures for foreign nationals and invited all expatriates who submitted applications to adjust their status after they have been banned from departure reliant upon court orders to present themselves to the Public Relations Department in order to facilitate their procedures and to follow up the adjustment of their status by calling Telephone No.: 17399764 or email: PublicRelations@gdnpr.gov.bh
