Northern Governor Hassan Abdullah Mohammed Al Madani, affirmed that the Ashoora season is held under the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, underscoring the Kingdom of Bahrain’s steadfast dedication to religious freedoms and the principles of coexistence and tolerance. He praised the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, alongside the diligent endeavours of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, in ensuring a secure environment for Ashoora season while preserving its religious and cultural sanctity.
The Northern Governor appreciated the results of the annual meeting between HE the Interior Minister and the heads and officials of the community centers (maatams) in various governorates. He emphasised that the meeting showcased the highest levels of commitment and national responsibility towards commemorating the Ashoora season.
He noted that the Northern Governorate initiated the early season preparations, convening meetings and liaising consistently with mourning procession leaders through the Ashoora Committee. This committee significantly coordinated with efforts, arranged events, allocated services, and defined duties among authorities, thereby ensuring the season’s success and fulfilment of its sacred aims.
He expressed his full confidence in the citizenry awareness and national spirit, affirming their ability to ensure a successful Ashoora season, presenting the Kingdom’s security, stability, and religious tolerance. He reassured Bahrain, remains an exemplary model of respect for religious liberty.
