MANAMA: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: With the war enters the fifth week, Bahrain’s food supply chain has not been affected, thanks to the alternative ports such as Jeddah and other ports in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “The Kingdom of Saudi Arbia in fact eases the rules and regulations for swift commercial and goods clearance, in this challenging time, the Chairman of TRAFCO told The24X7News Bahrain.
On sidelines of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of TRAFO, Group, Ebrahim Mohamed Ali Zainal, said that the food supply chain of Bahrain remains unaffected and all supermarkets have an adequate stock of food, dairy, vegetables, fruits and other grocery, so no need of any panic. However, Mr Zainal remains optimistic about the future saying that Bahrain in specific, and the GCC in general, has always shown a resilience in the past by braving the challenges in a dauting way. “There is no need of panic as TRAFCO will continue its operations regarding the supply chain to the market.
Mr Zainal hoped that situation at the Strait of Hormuz will improve, bringing stability to the region and things would swing back to normal.
The AGM has approved the financials and other items on the agenda during the assembly led by the Chairman Ebrahim Mohammed Ali Zainal, attended by 65 per cent of the total shareholding of the company. The AGM has approved payment of a cash dividend of 15 per cent equal to BD1.2million (approx.) for the year. The company recorded a net profit, attributable to shareholders, of over BD1.2million and directors renumeration of BD84050.
