Manama: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: Financial Intelligence National Centre Chief Executive and Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Committee Chair, Shaikha May bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, chaired the 32nd meeting of the GCC Technical Committee on Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing which was held via video conference, with representatives of member states present, as part of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s presidency of the 46th session of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The meeting reviewed several agenda topics, discussing latest developments on strengthening the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing framework throughout the GCC states. The meeting followed up on the work of technical teams and joint initiatives.

The meeting affirmed the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation among member states, and of exchanging expertise and best practices, to enhance the effectiveness of the joint GCC efforts to combat financial crimes and terrorist financing risks, in line with relevant international standards.
