Manama: Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) has announced the launch of ‘Nawat’, a new talent development programme designed to invest in the professional and academic growth of its employees. The initiative will provide access to executive education and specialised training at leading local and international universities and institutions, supporting the Bank’s efforts to build its future leadership pipeline and strengthen organisational capabilities.
Nawat follows an integrated framework through which selected employees across different levels will be nominated based on business requirements and BDB’s strategic priorities. This approach will direct learning opportunities towards areas of greatest relevance to the Bank, with an emphasis on developing leadership and specialised capabilities, fostering innovation and enhancing long-term institutional progress.
Participants will undertake executive education programmes, advanced management courses and professional training tailored to the Bank’s current and future needs. Nawat complements BDB’s wider investment efforts in its people, including its leadership programme in collaboration with the Institute of Public Administration, alongside executive learning opportunities delivered by international institutions such as Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
“Nawat marks an important step in our efforts to cultivate a workplace centred on continuous learning. We firmly believe that investing in national talent is among the most sustainable investments an organisation can make. The programme has therefore been designed around a clear development framework informed by our business needs and strategic priorities, enabling us to provide impactful learning opportunities that address the requirements of employees across different career levels,” Mrs. Dalal Al Qais, Group Chief Executive Officer of BDB, said.
“We remain focused on equipping our staff with the knowledge and experience required to lead change, foster innovation and contribute effectively to the Bank’s strategic objectives. Expanding access to high-quality education and professional training, while encouraging knowledge-sharing across the organisation, will help us expand our capabilities, strengthen future readiness and cultivate an environment where continuous development and excellence can thrive,” Ahmed Al Shomali, Chief Human Resources Officer at BDB, added.
Through Nawat, BDB continues to invest in its human capital by creating pathways for professional growth and preparing its workforce to respond to evolving industry trends. The initiative also advances the Bank’s focus on nurturing young Bahraini talent and building a resilient workforce capable of contributing to the Kingdom’s sustainable economic progress.
