MANAMA: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: The Ministry of Interior announced that the Child Protection in Cyberspace Unit of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security arrested a 22-year-old man for luring and exploiting a female child through a social media platform.
An investigation into the case led to the identification and arrest of the suspect. Legal proceedings were taken to refer the suspect to the Public Prosecution.
The Unit stressed the importance of strengthening parental supervision and raising children’s awareness of the risks of interacting with strangers online, especially those who use deceptive and enticing methods. It called on parents to monitor their children’s use of social media, educate them not to share photos or personal information with unknown parties, and immediately report any suspicious contact or attempted luring.
